Hair ideas
Since all outfits are by us, that kinda mean i need to do my own make up and hair. My hair is the longest its been in a very long while and I'm searching for ideas that's relatively easy to style. I esp love the love the 3rd image, it will be so nice with my idea of a long flowy dress... ooooo, can't wait!
And I've been so busy doing hairpieces for brides from all over that i'm thinking i need to start thinking of my own soon...hmmm..
These are some of the latest addition to the shoppe! My favourite is the Sophie, perfect for a ethereal woodland feel. Maybe I should keep it to myself eh?

More colours!
So we kinda change our spring colour scheme to add a little indian-esque edge to it. Colours chosen now includes rustic gold & turquoise... yum!
In an effort to brighten up the dim hall that is the Gallery, we opt to have the major pieces in white - which will prolly look creamy in pictures due to the warm lighting, so that should work out fine. Thinking also of adding a bright splash of contrasting color too, perhaps for the flowers and centrepieces. Bright red? Coral? hmmmm...
I put this together in like half an hour, so its a little mish mash of everything thrown together!
Some other boards i found for inspiration...
This addition of coral/orangey pink looks pretty too!
Sorry i'm not able to link back to the websites i found them on, coz all these have been save over time. But i trust most of them were from snippet and ink...

License to wed
No, not the movie!!
Ahem... As of 30th March 2009, we are certified to marry! wooooott!
We underwent the 'kursus rumahtangga' / marriage preparatory course at APKIM way in advance to avoid any rush towards the end of year. Honestly, i hope to have all the preparations and booking done by September this year so then all's left to do is just chill and wait for the day to come. Can't wait! :p
Back to the kursus, it was definitely more enjoyable than i thought it would be and i love the ustazah that we were assigned to :) A 59 year old with 33 years of experience, she made feel us pretty comfortable. She was also pretty open ie, no hammering and constant religious lecturing, everything was given its specific time and attention. Event though at first glance the place seemed a little dodgy, we kinda got over it after. I must say they should really update the lecture notes though! Its a little ermmm stuck in the 80s..hurhur...
Pet peeves and some griping...
But my absolute pet peeve is this. Unanswered emails and calls.
I mean if you really value your customer and want our business, act like it. I don't really care if you're doing this full time or part time, because i sure as hell am not paying you part time fees for your services. There are so so many vendors that either do not reply to my email at all or take forever to reply. I think if you cannot reply within 3-5 days, it makes sense to have an auto reply to state so. So we the customers would know what to expect. If you're going to be busy with some super mega wedding for next 2 weeks, it doesn't hurt to give a short one line explanatory email or sms for the delay. But don't just leave the emails compacting in your inbox, esp when you received an sms after, stating an email has been send to you for your reply.
I don't know if this is just a problem with the Malay community or otherwise. But most of the Malay vendors i come across have a don't care attitude that really pissed me off. I have cut off 2 vendors which i was initially going to engage because of the lack of initiative in communication on their part. I hate having to constantly call, email and sms for an initial quote without response from them, so out you go!
Later today we're finally going to meet a photographer after over 1 month of me trying to schedule a date to meet. And no, he doesn't remember that i have emailed him twice and called him a few times to set an appointment. But i'm trying to keep it in check since i really like the works i saw on his website. I hope a meeting face to face will have a much better outcome *cross fingers*
Maybe its because i have been in the service industry for the past 5 years, high end service where we deliver what we promise and take responsibility when we do not, that i have come to expect this of other service providers. But it has been a real challenge dealing with some of these people, i tell you.
I thank God that the vendors we have already decided on have been a great bunch, and i am pretty satisfied with the service and professionalism shown. Just praying hard that the others to come will show just a little more initiative and professionalism too.
Ok/ rant over :)

Awesome wedding videography
Now something like this would TOTALLY justify paying an arm and leg (and perhaps just a little more) for...
Welcome to StillMotion - the Demo from StillMotion on Vimeo.

Now where can I get an equivalent of just 50% of the goodness in this part of the world?
Still asking too much? *sigh*

Colours, colours
So here we are, strongly forging on this wedding with a whole lot of plans and some action (yayyyyy!!). We have since confirmed and secured
♥ the venue - The Gallery & Foyer, Fort Canning
♥ the bridal for outfit & makeup - Versari Ade
♥ the decor to do up our venue - The Wedding Chateau
The photographer has also more or less been selected, just need to have a look at his new samples and confirm what we need :)
I have also been collecting many lovely inspiration boards to lend ideas in the final colour scheme. We had wanted a white whimsical garden feel, lotsa white all round and colourful, full fresh flowers. Then our wedding decor extrodinaire had an idea for a spring wedding! Bcoz they had said white weddings were kinda boring... which I must admit is kinda true.
So i went searching through the mood boards i had been collecting since the engagement, mostly from snippet and ink and these few stood out. I'm loving the combination of pale yellow and tiffany blue against a backdrop of white. Yummy!
Now to translate this board to a more traditional malay muslim wedding will have its challenges! But let's leave that to the experts first and see what they come up with... can't wait to meet up with them this weekend.
p/s in my excitement, i have added a counter to help us count the days till our wedding. 11 months and 4 days till the wedding from today!

Long time coming
Its been like a gazillion years since my last update. I guess some of you must be wondering what happened right?? Don't worry, we didn't elope and yes, we're still getting married.
Well, to answer the question of what happened, first life did. Second, we postpone the wedding. Thus the sudden stop in the manic that was our preparation.
Now we have much much more time to plan. We both feel good about this arrangement and our parents are agreeable (miracle!), so all's good! yeahhhhh!
I will definitely post again, just not sure when. Something has been keeping me busy. And perhaps you will come over to my new breeding ground? That will be more for the shop and day to day events whilst this be the highly kept secret that is our wedding. Or not.
I'm mighty excited to be sharing my new love with you guys. I'll be waiting with a cup of tea. Just for you... you'll come, won't you?
much love,
sina
